01
Search Solana assets and add the ones that belong in the basket.
02
Allocations are whole percents, capped at 40%, and must total 100%.
03
Sign the methodology with your wallet. The configuration is public.

Pick the assets. Set the weights. Launch one token, so a thesis can be held instead of rebuilt.

A view in crypto is rarely one asset. It is a mix: a sector, a narrative, a set of names you would rather hold together than pick apart. Buying that mix means a separate trade for every token, a spreadsheet for the weights, and another round of trades whenever the mix drifts.
Sharing the view is just as awkward. A list in a post is not a position. The reader still has to buy each name, in the right size, and trust that the list has not changed since they last looked. The basket exists in someone’s head. It does not exist as something you can hold.
02
Funds and on-chain indexes already collapse many assets into one share. The thesis, the constituents, and the fee all belong to the issuer. If your view is different, you are a customer of their product, not the author of your own.
That is a poor fit for crypto. The interesting baskets are often specific and short-lived: an AI set, a Solana set, a memecoin set, a gaming set. They come from traders, researchers, and communities, not from a product committee. Those people can publish a list. They cannot publish the list as an asset.
03
memeindex is a permissionless index launcher on Solana. A creator picks the assets, sets the weights, and signs the methodology with their wallet. The result is one SPL token. Holding that token is the basket.
The product is an index launcher, not a memecoin launcher. Memecoins are one category. The same path publishes an AI index, a DeFi index, an RWA index, a gaming index, or a DePIN index. The category is a label. The structure is the same: a public basket, one token.
04
Launching turns a thesis into something other people can hold without rebuilding it. They do not need your wallet, your spreadsheet, or a thread that went stale. They need the token, and the page that shows exactly what is inside it.
The methodology is public. Name, ticker, weights, and the rebalance rule are recorded when you sign. Anyone can read the basket. That is the difference between an index and a pile of tokens in a personal wallet.
Creators have a reason to distribute it. The design pays the creator a share of the activity their index generates, because the person who brings the holders is doing the work an issuer used to charge for. The influence stays with the author of the basket.
05
The point of the token is exposure to the published weights, not a bet on an empty ticker. The protocol is built so a deposit of USDC or SOL buys the underlying basket, and the depositor receives index tokens against the value of what was bought. Redeeming burns the index token and returns that share.
People who only want to trade can use a pool, the way they would trade any other Solana token. Minting and redeeming are what pull the market price back toward the basket. If the token trades far from the value of its assets, the basket itself is the way back.
06
A creator chooses 2 to 12 Solana assets. Each weight is a whole percent, from 1% to 40%, and the weights total 100%. No single name can be the index. This version uses fixed weights: the allocation you sign is the allocation that is published.
You also choose what should happen later. The basket can stay as signed, or it can be scheduled for a weekly check, a monthly check, or a check when a constituent moves far enough from its target. Those rules are part of the methodology. They are not a private promise.
An asset has to be holdable. The published standard asks for real liquidity and some trading history before a name is treated as part of a live basket, and basket trades are meant to fail if slippage is too high. If a constituent breaks, it comes out and the remaining weights scale back to 100%.
07
Today you can publish that methodology and launch the index token on Solana. The token is real. The page is public. The weights are the ones you signed.
The vault that holds the underlying assets, mints against deposits, and redeems back to the basket is the next layer. Until that vault is the mint authority, deposits stay closed. A token launched now is the creator’s token for a published thesis. It is not yet a custodied fund, and it should not be described as one.
